Print Files In Windows
How To Print Files In Windows 10?
This article covers both how to print files and how to print files list. Follow the instructions below to easily print all files.
Printing All Files In A Folder
To print all of the files in a folder, open Windows Explorer (File Explorer in Windows 10) and navigate to that folder. Press CTRL-a to select all files and the selection, and choose Print from the context menu. Of course, you can also print fewer files by manually selecting the ones you need instead of pressing CTRL-a.
Please note that in order for this to work the selected items should be of printable types - documents images etc. If your list includes non-printable files like executables (exe), music (mp3 etc.), archives (zip, rar etc.) the Print menu item will not be listed as those items can not be printed.
The print option will not appear if your files are of different types. You can select for example .docx files or .jpg files, but you can not mix different types in a single print job. You can easily sort the files by type and print them in batches by file type. Just click "Type" column in File Explorer and the items will be sorted by extension - file type. Then select all the files with the same type to be printed. Click the first item, then press and hold SHIFT and select the last item. This will select all files in-between. You can add more files to that selection by holding the CTRL key and clicking on a file.
Printing List Of All Files In A Folder
Printing files list unfortunately is not available in Windows File Explorer. You can capture and print a screenshot, but that will not work if you want to print all the files in the sub-folders. You can also print via the command line using the DIR command, but that does not produce a very nice list.
Best thing to do is to use the free Folder Size explorer style application to print folders and files. It is aimed to calculate folder sizes, but it has great printing features. It can print folder tree, folder list, files list including all folders and files in a folder and all its sub-folders. Give it a try and you will not regret. It will save you hours or a day of work and print the files list in just minutes.
Steps to print files list:
